1. The app is offline by design
Steadwise's entire purpose is to work when nothing else does. The AI model, the reference library, the maps, and the mini-apps all run locally on your own hardware. As a result:
- No account is required to use Steadwise, and the app never asks you to create one.
- Your AI conversations stay on your device. Questions you ask, answers you receive, and your chat history are processed and stored locally. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Your content stays on your device. Notes, bookmarks, reading history, and any books, videos, or documents you import are indexed and stored locally only.
- No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising or tracking SDKs are built into the app. We do not collect usage data of any kind.
For the iOS app, our App Store privacy label reflects this: Data Not Collected.
2. When the app does touch the network
The app only uses your internet connection when you explicitly ask it to download something: the AI model during first-time setup, optional content such as regional map packs or illustrated packs, and software updates you choose to install. These downloads are served from our content delivery network (Cloudflare). Like any web server, the CDN processes your device's IP address and the name of the file requested in order to deliver it. This standard connection data is processed transiently for delivery and security; we do not use it to identify you or build any kind of profile. Once your downloads are done, you can run Steadwise on a machine that never goes online again.
3. Purchases
- Desktop (sold direct): payment is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your card number. We receive your email address and basic order details (what you bought, when, and the amount) so we can deliver your purchase, provide receipts, and honor your license. We keep order records as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- iOS (App Store): Apple processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your name, email, or payment details from an App Store purchase.
4. When you email us
If you write to [email protected] (or any steadwise.app address), we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it for exactly one thing: helping you. Support mail may be processed with AI-assisted tools to help us triage and answer faster; it is never used for advertising, never added to a marketing list without your consent, and never sold or shared. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful for resolving your issue and improving the product.
5. The website
steadwise.app is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no trackers. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, whose infrastructure processes standard server-log data (such as IP address and pages requested) to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a standard request to Google's font servers when the page loads; no other third-party resources are used.
6. What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade personal information.
- We never share personal information with data brokers or advertisers.
- We never track you across other apps or websites.
- We never train AI models on your conversations, notes, or imported content — we can't; they never leave your device.
If we are ever legally compelled to disclose information, there is very little to disclose: at most, support correspondence and order records.
7. Children
Steadwise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, this applies in practice to email and purchases: if you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Because we hold almost nothing, exercising your rights is simple. Email [email protected] to ask what we have about you (typically: your emails to us, and order records if you bought direct), to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will honor deletion requests except where we are legally required to retain records, such as tax documentation for purchases. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), these rights may be backed by law (GDPR, CCPA); we extend the same treatment to everyone regardless of location.
9. Security
The strongest security measure in Steadwise is architectural: data that never leaves your device cannot be breached on our servers. What little we do handle (support email, order records) is kept in access-controlled accounts with reputable providers, and payment card data is handled entirely by the payment processor, never by us.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version at this address with a new effective date. If a change ever meaningfully affects how personal information is handled, we will say so plainly at the top of the policy rather than bury it.
